Five Friday Favorites

Most of this week has actually been spent moving!
I moved across town to be in a quieter location, where people won't be playing sand volleyball outside my room at 12 midnight. (I kid you not, this happened. Several times). Moving isn't really fun until you get to the unpacking part and setting everything up how you like it--which I of course love! My two priorities for the first night in a new place are some art on at least one wall, and my closet has got to be the first part of my room to be organized! I mean, what good is a new place without art and shoes carefully placed in a line? :)
But enough about moving, here is what happened in my life this week, starting with last Friday...

1. I visited the Dale Chihuly exhibit at the Denver Botanical Gardens last Friday, before I left Colorado for Florida. His work has always been mentioned in my various art and design classes, so it was quite cool to be able to see Chihuly's work in person!

2. I was able to have some last minute kitty cuddles with my pretty kitty girl Katrina, although she decided to not say goodbye to me the morning I left... That's very typical for her, because she hates it when I leave. I have had her since I was in kindergarten, and she was a kitten, so we basically grew up together. I might have a crazy kitty boy Berlioz to snuggle with in Tallahassee, but Katrina is a very special kitty to me.

3. Before moving, I got to spend some time with my Little, and we went to the all dangerous HOME GOODS! With us both being interior designers, you can imagine that we were in there for awhile and spent more money than we should have... "But it's pretty!"

4. Things I LOVE about my new apartment: big bathroom with a jetted tub, pretty wall color that isn't white, lots of storage, homey feeling, and being on the 3rd floor means my butt is going to look good! Things I'm NOT loving so much: my shower head, the way I'm going to need blackout drapes because you can see the front porch light through the blinds + the ones I have (and I got almost no sleep last night because of it!), and the fact that the closet shelving configuration is not super conducive to how I'd prefer to organize my clothes. But you know, the pros outweigh the cons here! And maybe this just means I really have no choice but to keep a close watch on how many clothes I have and how many I have room for.

5. Today, I'm headed to Daytona for a week to see Kyle-- I missed him so much while I was in Europe!
Some boyfriend time is long over due, as is beach time and kitty cuddles with Bo & Berlioz! :)

Have a great weekend, everyone!
