The Most Perfect of Weekends

Monday, March 30, 2015

It's been a busy past couple of days! Since last Thursday, a lot has happened...

* Kyle came into town for an Eric Church concert
* My mom came into town for Alpha Phi's Mom's Weekend
* I took my mom and my brother with me to Jacksonville to go wedding dress shopping... and we were successful! The perfect dress is on order!

It was so nice to have my mom here, to hang out with and do all the things that moms love to do. Taking the weekend off to spend time with her was just awesome, of course now as I right this quick post I'm thinking about all the homework I didn't do that now needs to be done... EEEK! But it's okay, I had the most perfect of weekends and nothing can take that away from me! :) Here are some snapshots from the weekend...

Eric Church with my handsome fiance!

Lunch on the beach post-dress shopping in Jacksonville.

My mom and I went to Old Navy to find dresses for me for Italy this summer... we were successful! (Purchased the maxi in navy, but am ordering it in this green color also! It's so comfortable.)

She's just the best mom around...

It was such a fun weekend, lots of good memories! I hope y'all had a great weekend as well!

Life Lately

Monday, October 6, 2014

Sorry for my partial absence last week; things were pretty crazy!

We had an Interior Design Department Wide Charette, a group project that is only several days long and therefore very intense. It was a very frustrating week for me, because the senior member in our group and I did not get along so well. I'm generally more of a leader than a follower, and his leadership style was not mine at all. We clashed a lot, and long story short, I ended up doing the majority of the work. I had a bit of breakdown Wednesday afternoon, and the Best Boyfriend Award goes to Kyle, for listening to me sob for a good 10 minutes straight! I certainly learned how not to lead my group next year, when I'm the senior member.

On top of that, I ended up getting a really bad cold, and then I caught pink eye Friday night. Yesterday, I got a strep test because my throat hurt so much, even just swallowing saliva. Negative on the strep test, but I'm still at home today so as to not infect anyone. So that's all been pretty fun... Not.

Now for the real fun: after my mental breakdown Wednesday, I welcomed a Grand-Little into my Alpha Phi family! Both my Little and my new G-Little did a great job of cheering me up, and I'm so happy to have them in my life! On top of that, my parents came into town for FSU Parents Weekend, as well as Alpha Phi's Red Dress Gala. It was so nice to finally be able to show my dad around Tallahassee, even though it was a short visit. And I think he wants to come back next year!

Living The Dream

Monday, August 25, 2014

Hello again! Sorry for missing a couple days blogging last week--I've been quite busy! A) my mom & brother are in town moving him into his dorm, and B) I've been busy recruiting a new class of Alpha Phi sisters!

I'm a member of Alpha Phi International Fraternity (fraternity because we were founded before the word sorority was invented) at FSU and we've been busy both preparing to welcome new sisters and finding new sisters to welcome! It's been a fun couple weeks. What I loved about it last year is also what I loved about it this year--connecting with and getting to know different sisters already in our chapter that I maybe didn't know so well before recruitment. This upcoming year is actually my "senior" year in Alpha Phi, and I'm still getting used to the idea. I actually graduate in two years, but because I transferred things are real complicated! lol! While I'm kinda sad to be leaving I also know I'm not really leaving, since I'll still be in town. Even though I was hesitant to join a sorority, I am so happy I did. I would probably not have met any of the amazing  friends and sisters I now have if it weren't for Alpha Phi. But enough mush, here are some snapshots from the week that are just too cute not to share!

We took a ton of pictures but these are just a few of my favorites!
Happy Monday, and happy first day of school to all my Seminoles out there!
