Post-Birthday Shopping Challenge

Monday, July 22, 2013

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope y'all had a good weekend!

I decided to start off the week by sharing with you my post-birthday shopping plan. What my parents and brother did for my 21st was have me open one little gift a day (which was somehow related to the number 21) 21 days before my birthday. Very clever!! For example, one day I got 21 purple calla lilies, and another I got 21 fruit bars that are only found in Colorado. My family knows how much of a fashionista I am, so I also got gift cards from DSW,  Marshall's,  Ross, Forever 21, BR/Gap/Piperlime, and Target, each with $21 dollars on it.

So my ultimate goal is to buy my late-summer, fall additions to my wardrobe using just these gift cards, giving myself an extra maximum of $100 to spare. And I'm going to try really hard to stick to that because I love shopping (and regrettably buying) and I have been trying for so long to stick to a budget to keep my habits under control.

I'm hoping that in sharing this and making it public that I will be even more determined to stick to it! Keep me accountable, y'all!

Here is my Must-Have List-- I would love to stick to this but will allow myself to stray if I can make a good argument for it!

    1. Leopard/Animal Print Blouse
    2. Colorful Flat Sandals
    3. Black Sandals-- I want something that can be dressed up or down (looking at these
    4. Casual Short Sleeved Dress-- I have a lot of solid dresses, so I'm thinking print, maybe
something in the grays? I have a feeling this might be a tricky thing to find.
    5. Dark Gray Top-- to keep up with Pantone's Fall Turbulence. I know this will be a fall-
     winter transition piece.
    6. Dressy Black Shorts
    7. Flats-- originally I was thinking something fun and colorful, but now I'm looking into other varieties. (Loving these, these, these, and these)

But like all fashion lovers, I have another wish list which includes the following... In a perfect world I'd have it all!
