Spring Shopping at LOFT

Thursday, April 30, 2015

While out running errands yesterday for last minute things for my trip, I decided to pop on in to LOFT when I saw they we having an amazing sale... Everything in stores yesterday was 50% off, and now they've made that a thing online today! In the spirit of celebrating my last test of finals week, I took a lot into the dressing room, but the things below are some of my favorites.

White Fluid Tee: I loved the drape of this top, but even at the smallest size it was just a little too big for my frame. But the quality is amazing, so I definitely reccommend checking it out. I loved that it wasn't see through!

Black and White Striped Romper: Love the two tone aspect to this romper! I tried this on in a petite version (that was all I could find in my store). Sometimes I can do petite tops because of my shorter torso, but never can I do a long sleeve in petite due to my long arms. Exhibit A being this romper.... I think it's supposed to be long sleeved! But regardless it's still cute, although not 100% the best fit for me so there it stayed. (FYI, I think this might be an in-store exclusive, as I couldn't find it online to link to!)

Button Pocket Utility Blouse & Floral Riviera Shorts: This top is the only thing I brought home with me! The cut was perfect (it's a petite but because I would probably not ever wear it as a long sleeved shirt I'm okay with that!) and I love the color. The shorts were cute, love the neutral print, but they just didn't fit quite right.

Striped Slubbed Sweater & Cotton Twill Riviera Shorts: The softness of this lightweight sweater is what brought it to the dressing room with me, and the color paired perfectly with these military green shorts! Neither piece felt 100% perfect at the time, but that doesn't mean my mind won't change. I'm trying to be much better about only buying what I truly love and get really excited about right away.

Damask Fluid Tee: I had included this blouse in my Shorts and Spring Tops post the other week, and I was excited for it to be in-store and in my size. But I wasn't loving it on. It looked a little funny (and too loose!) untucked, but tucked it makes my shoulders look broad in my opinion. Maybe I just didn't have it paired with the right bottoms, but I decided to pass.

So those were my thoughts, but I would definitely recommend you head on over to LOFT and check out the sale, 50% off with code HALFSIES. I hope you are having a happy Thursday! I'm spending the day packing and trying to take it easy since I feel a little cold coming on.. boo!

Five Friday Favorites

Friday, August 8, 2014

It seems like it's been a long week! Anyone else feel this way? Maybe I'm still getting over how excruciatingly long my drive from Daytona to Tallahassee felt yesterday... it felt like I was never going to get home, like in Monty Python when they are riding towards the castle but it doesn't look like they are getting any closer! But anyway, it's been a fun week, and here's why!

1. I put together this outfit featuring a necklace and earring set from the new Premier catalog! I loved how the delicate necklace plays off the delicate lace and neutral tones of my outfit.

2. So Kyle has a brand new fancy Mazda 6 to get to work and back while saving on gas. It's such a pretty car, but it's also a manual. It's great for Kyle, because he loves driving manual--he lights up like a little kid, it's so cute! I can tell he's in his element for sure. But, for me? Not so good, because I don't know how to drive it! So he's teaching me, because obviously at some point I'm probably going to have to drive it. He's a very patient teacher--I think I was more nervous about messing up his brand new car than he was! But we had a few laughs and we'll keep practicing.

3. Unfortunately Kyle had an overtime shift this week, so that sucked a little bit since I hadn't seen him since before I left for Europe, but I'm used to it by now. It comes with the territory of dating a fireman. What else was a girl to do than go hang out by the beach, reading and tanning?! And shopping of course, where I picked up this fun pink-navy-aqua ensemble that I think kinda really works!

4. Y'all, I really love my man Kyle. He is just the sweetest guy ever, always caring for me and about what's going on in my life. He's a great provider of friendship, love, and... food! He cooked me a wonderful steak dinner, which was sweet and unexpected. :)

5. On my agenda for today... Haircut! Putting some finishing touches on my new apartment! Berlioz gets to go to the vet for shots! Dinner with my BFF! It's going to be a fun day :)

Happy Friday, y'all! Have a great weekend!

Dressing Room Diaries: LOFT

Thursday, June 19, 2014

The other day I found myself in LOFT, looking to take advantage of a great sale they had going on on t's and tanks.
Naturally, I ended up trying on a couple other things!

My favorite was this light tunic pullover...
I love the lightness of the fabric, the fun color, and the ease with which you could throw this on over a swimsuit
at the beach or a tank like I've done here. I wasn't able to get it now, but it's certainly on my wish list.
(I did get the grey jeans though... $5 on super final sale clearance! Whoohoo!)
Shop this outfit... Tunic / Tank  / Jeans (sorry, they aren't as on sale online!)

My LOFT wish list...

Also, LOFT is having a great sale right now, everything is 40% off with code ONBOARD, in stores & online! Happy Shopping!
