You all saw this look on Instagram last Friday (In fact, you loved it! I got over 70 likes, unlike anything I've seen before! So thanks for the love! :) ) so here are all the details today! I wore this to a Premier Jewelry party, and the hostess was a dear friend and Alpha Phi sister of mine. We had such a fun night playing in the jewelry, and she walked away with over $200 in free jewelry! I love my job! :)

Anyway, onto the outfit: it was definitely chilly, so layers were a must. I wore red in honor of Wear Red Day for women's heart health awareness, and I paired it with leather leggings and my booties for a trendy vibe. I love the statement the On Pointe necklace makes, and I thought my cozy scarf from Scotland tied everything together.

Bold & Playful

I wore this bright look over the weekend for a Premier Jewelry event I hosted. This dress, a new purchased I first talked about last week, is so fun. I love the playful nature of the swing-style skirt, and the comfort level is easily 20 on a scale of 1-10! :) Spring Break, the name of the necklace I'm wearing, is such a bold statement piece; I can see it being worn all throughout spring & summer with sundresses. With the slightly warmer weather we've been having lately here in north Florida, this necklace has me dreaming of how I might spend my spring break and summer!

Boho Flair

So as you might remember I became obsessed with dresses while studying abroad in Italy. I've been trying to incorporate them into my day to day wear, because they can be oh-so-comfortable, but it's been harder with the cold weather we've been having. Enter this amazing find at my local TJMaxx (I've linked the same dress but at Nordstrom Rack)! It's so soft and cozy, yet lightweight enough that I could wear it with minimal layers for spring, as temps warm back up. I love the plum color too, a color I'm starting to collect more pieces of. 

I paired it here with my recent shoe obsession, my fringe booties. To add even more boho flair, the New Neutrals necklace from Premier's Spring/Summer 2016 collection does the trick! I really love this look, although I'm not sure what tights I would wear with this dress and boots combo if I wanted to cover up more... hmm....

Five Friday Favorites

This week felt long and short all at the same time. I only have classes on M/W, so because of the MLK holiday this week I only wine to school once! So the week kinda felt like one long weekend, yet I kept myself busy enough to where it wasn't a weekend. Anyone else get a little messed up with non-weekend holidays? Anyway, here is what happened in my world this week!

1. I came across this quote towards the beginning of the week, and I just thought it is so relevant to most anything in life! Just Bloom and wonderful things are bound to happen. 

2. Even though I spent a few days this week at home doing schoolwork and other tasks around my apartment, a girl's still gotta wear a little bling to feel fabulous. (Especially if she's a jewelry lady!)

3. You may remember my one of my phrases for the year is to Be Consistent (read this post), and part of that was committing to a workout schedule. So I've been doing a quick 10-minute yoga video on M/W before my long day of classes, and then T/Th I've been meeting up with my little brother at the gym to workout. I figure I can't cancel on my brother, so there's no excuse to not show up, especially when I have no classes on those days. This was a post-workout smoothie I made this week, a new flavor combination that I really liked!

4. January is one of the months I can go get my engagement ring cleaned and inspected at the jewelers, so I took care of that yesterday. Now it's all extra sparkly! 

5. Also speaking of jewelry, my new spring/summer collection samples arrived in the mail yesterday, and I cannot wait to start wearing them and styling them here on this blog!

Easy & Colorful

On Saturday, I spent the better part of the day taking care of a long list of Premier to-do's, to prepare my business for the months ahead. By the time the late afternoon rolled around, I realized I still needed to run get a couple things at the store, and drop my recycling off! It was gorgeous weather, so I threw on my most comfortable pair of jeans (a loose, boyfriend style fit I thrifted) with a simple tee, my cute green jacket, and some pops of colors with the Papaya necklace and my rose gold sandals. Easy, quick, and colorful to match the warmer temps! I apparently was looking good enough to warrant getting asked out to coffee by a cute and very nervous guy at the store... He was so embarrassed when I told him I was engaged, poor guy!

New Jewelry & New Colors for Spring 2016

In case you are new here, I am blessed to sell Premier Designs High Fashion Jewelry. We are a Biblically based Direct "Service" company whose focus is on enriching lives through jewelry. Over the weekend, I attended the Premier Designs Regional Rally in Orlando, where the new Spring/Summer 2016 collection was released. Talk about Jewelry Lady heaven!!! I cannot wait to order my new samples, because they totally compliment the Pantone Colors for Spring 2016!

Cheering for the NOLES

On New Years Eve, the FSU Seminoles took on the Houston Cougars in the Peach Bowl, and this was what I wore to cheer them on from afar. Kyle and I spent the morning exploring St. Augustine (details coming tomorrow) but then we were able to catch the second half of the game on TV over a late lunch. While the FSU loss was quite unfortunate (and painful to watch!) I at least liked my outfit! :) I had stashed the jean jacket in the car, just in case it got cold, but I didn't need it. I like the look better without it anyway!

Denim Dress, Two Ways

 

Skipping Five Friday Favorites this week! I am currently in Colorado and trying to fit lots of things in a short visit, so no time to blog. (Thank goodness for the ability to schedule blog posts!)

I was recently on the market for a denim dress, and this eBay find fit the bill! I wanted a more open collar that would work for wearing bold necklaces, as well as a longer length than many I was seeing in stores. After sewing the pockets on the chest shut (they were going every which direction due to washing!) I just had to play with a few ways to style it! I think my favorite is the second look, which would be perfect for a festive holiday look here in Florida. If you live in a colder climate, you could just add some black tights and switch up the flats for black booties or over the knee boots. How cute would that be? It certainly feels so weird to have naked legs in December, especially just before Christmas!

Side note, the dress did not look this wrinkly in person, I guess that's the camera's work for you! I thought about photoshopping it, but I decided being authentic was better. Fashion is not always perfect. :)

Framed for the Holidays

I wore this last week to a little holiday get together a past Premier Hostess of mine put together, so naturally I wanted to be decked out in Premier! I wore a jewelry styling technique called framing, where you frame a smaller, shorter necklace with a longer one. This draws the attention to the center necklace, the perfect way to showcase a more sentimental necklace. In this case, I just used a bold pendant as my focal piece. I kept the rest of my outfit simple, with a lightweight sweater that's perfect for Florida, skinny jeans, and comfy Toms with a pop of color.

Layered Necklaces

After finishing up all my projects for the semester last week, I finally had some time to do some Christmas shopping, and this is what I wore. Comfortable, easy, and perfect for a day that started with temperatures in the 50's and ended in the 70's. I started with a scarf, but by noon it was not needed. That's Florida weather in December for you! My favorite part of this outfit is actually my jewelry; I love the layered necklaces look, with a mix of silver and gold. I started with the Maltese Cross necklace I ordered from Etsy, which I wear on all the days that Kyle works. Then, I added the Over the Moon necklace set, which has both gold and silver chains. Keeping with the circular motif, I took the center chain from the Your Way necklace and added that, because it has circular disks as well.

Copper Canyon

One of the many great things about maxi dresses (besides the fact that they are so comfortable and the quickest outfit to put on ever) is that they can be almost season-less. Here, I've topped my simple navy maxi with my beautiful leather jacket from my dear friend Michelangelo's shop. Probably my favorite purchase ever, this man is so sweet & if you are ever in Florence you need to get your leather from him! The best quality around. I've accessorized with the Copper Canyon necklace from Premier, which has a beautiful mix of browns and blacks. This mix of color is picked up again in my leopard print flats. Perfectly put together!

Rose Gold Blues

I wore this last week for classes and a  Premier Designs Training I went to. I love the combination of spotted pattern, warm brown, the purply-blue gems in the necklace, and the accents of rose gold! The end result is a lovely combination of rose gold and misty blue hues, a nice lighthearted color combination that is a perfect transition from summer to fall. 

The pattern on this top, which is a find from ThredUp, is very interesting. In person, it looks like either black or really dark blue spots. But behind the camera, it looks almost gray! Anyone else have clothes like this? I suppose it makes them more versatile, right?

Style Chameleon

Today I'm sharing a few daily outfits that for whatever reason never made it onto my Instagram. Each of these necklaces are from the new Premier Designs collection... it's been really fun to play with & style all my new samples! One of the many things I love about jewelry is it's ability to change the style of an outfit. Without having to buy new clothes, I can be classic (with a striped dress & simple sandals), slightly edgy (with grey & a pop of color), and even boho (with a flowy blouse & earthy statement necklace). Think about if I switched around the jewelry... I'd have three more very different looks, without changing my clothes! 

Not that you needed another reason to love jewelry, but I think the added benefit of being a style chameleon is a pretty darn good reason! :)

The Traveling Maxi

Like yesterday's outfit had my go-to shorts of summer, today's look features my go-to dress of summer! This maxi has been a lot of places this summer: floating through the streets of Florence, Italy, inside more churches than I can count, walking along the beach in Daytona, and much more. This weekend, I paired it with a fun rose gold & mint necklace combo for lunch with some of my dear friends I hadn't seen all summer. A simple navy shift base allows the jewelry to stand out, exactly what every Jewelry Lady wants!

First Impressions

These J. Crew Factory shorts have quickly become my summer staple. They are comfortable, and have been my go-to ever since I got back from Europe. So you can imagine why I picked them for my first day of classes! Comfortable yet cute and classy, this look is great for making first impressions, though at this point I know all my professors and all my classmates. Ever since I was young, my mom always told me that on the first week of school I needed to dress my best to make a good first impression. This idea has stuck with me throughout my entire school career! If you ask any of my friends though, they would note that really I never show up to class sloppy unless I'm sick... And somehow even then I try to look not like I'm sick. 

I have become such a fan of mixing prints, and I have to say that I really love this combination. As I've said before, the trick is to keep the colors the same, but play with the scale of the two prints. Here the larger polka dots pairs perfectly with the smaller diamond print. Print pairing perfection! Silver flats and a fun statement necklace with a pop of mint pull it all together.

The bright, bold colors in the inspiration photo scream summer. As the August heat becomes more intense, keep your look simple by upgrading basics (tee, jeans, and your go-to neutral bag) with pops of tropical colors. This Premier necklace, called Tropical Punch, is a light piece that is perfect for throwing on over something as simple as your favorite tee. The mix of bright colors means it's an instant outfit maker! I could totally throw on this outfit for a trip to the movies, running errands, or happy hour drinks. But what I can't decide is what I love more, this versatile outfit or this fun kitchen!

Dots & Spots

Old Navy Maxi Dress / Old Navy Jean Jacket / Bandolino Heels / Premier Designs Jewelry

Mixing prints is one of my favorite things to do in my outfits lately. Here I've done it a little more subtly, by pairing a cute polka dot maxi with a leopard print necklace. The key with mixing prints is to pair different sized prints together, which doesn't look as busy. Another tip I have is to stick with the same general shape with the patterns; polka dots and leopard print spots are both round, which allows them to pair together very easily!

I wore this last week to brighten up my week... the day prior I went to pick up my ring from being sized, and it was still too big! Long story with that is that I'm without it for another couple weeks, and I was looking so forward to having it back on my finger. Any engaged readers out there feel my frustrations? 

Also, as I write this post from the front porch where I can enjoy the beautiful day, my friend Marisa says the caption of this post should really be "Hi look how cute I am!" :)
