Boho Flair

So as you might remember I became obsessed with dresses while studying abroad in Italy. I've been trying to incorporate them into my day to day wear, because they can be oh-so-comfortable, but it's been harder with the cold weather we've been having. Enter this amazing find at my local TJMaxx (I've linked the same dress but at Nordstrom Rack)! It's so soft and cozy, yet lightweight enough that I could wear it with minimal layers for spring, as temps warm back up. I love the plum color too, a color I'm starting to collect more pieces of. 

I paired it here with my recent shoe obsession, my fringe booties. To add even more boho flair, the New Neutrals necklace from Premier's Spring/Summer 2016 collection does the trick! I really love this look, although I'm not sure what tights I would wear with this dress and boots combo if I wanted to cover up more... hmm....

New Jewelry & New Colors for Spring 2016

In case you are new here, I am blessed to sell Premier Designs High Fashion Jewelry. We are a Biblically based Direct "Service" company whose focus is on enriching lives through jewelry. Over the weekend, I attended the Premier Designs Regional Rally in Orlando, where the new Spring/Summer 2016 collection was released. Talk about Jewelry Lady heaven!!! I cannot wait to order my new samples, because they totally compliment the Pantone Colors for Spring 2016!

Falling in Love with Pantone

As a Premier Jewelry Lady, a fashion-lover in general and and interior architecture student, it's important for me to keep up with the latest color trends. And I can easily say that this fall's Pantone colors are some of my favorite colors! They reflect my personal style well, which means that I'm going to be able to find some fantastic new pieces to add to my wardrobe this season (but just a few, I'm still wanting to keep up the minimalist wardrobe I had over the summer).

Today I'm rounding up some of my favorite pieces I've seen just through clicking "New Arrivals" from store emails. I have a lot of navy colors already in my wardrobe, as well as some greens of the Dried Herb/ Desert Sage variety that I'm obsessed with currently. I have a hard time wearing purples, pinks, and oranges so those will probably stay out this season for me personally. But I am intrigued by Oak Buff and I definitely want to add some more Marsala-esque tones to my collection for fall! 

LOFT Painted Tank -- I love the combination of all the colors that this blouse provides! A one-stop-shop for fall trends! I can see this working as a great top for office-to-date night looks.

J. Crew Factory Striped Tee -- Part Marsala, part Cadmium Orange, part Oak Buff, this would be a great piece to step out of my color comfort zone with. Whenever you are trying something new, it's best to take it slow. 

Audrey Brooke Reptile Flats -- A fun texture, I could see these flats paired with the LOFT tank and black skinnies or the striped tee and rolled-hem jeans for a more casual look.

J. Crew Factory Shirtdress -- I'm in love with this color! And the shirtdress trend; so comfortable and an easy look. Pair with a scarf and some boots and you're set for cooler temps!

LOFT Cargo Pants -- I don't know why, since I've never really owned cargo pants and this color is something totally different for me, but I am in love with these pants from LOFT! I want to try them on soon to see if it's really love at first sight or not. I love that sometimes with fashion you can surprise yourself by what interests you. 

Premier Designs "Double Your Fun" Necklace -- A great Marsala stone that flips over to a grey/neutral stone makes this necklace a great go-to for all your fall Pantone color needs.

This would probably be my dream kitchen! Back in my first semester at FSU, when I had to re-take similar classes because my credits from SCAD weren't accepted, one of my projects featured this amazing copper bathtub that I fell in love with. That project started my love affair with copper, so you can see why this kitchen is on my love list--that pendent!!! :) 

The outfit I pictured this kitchen turning into was one that exuded dressy casual, and I think this look is perfect for a trip out to brunch with the girls, running errands, etc. The necklace picks up all the colors in the outfit, creating a cohesive combo that's sure to please.

Marsala For Spring

Sage + Cobalt

I have a new obsession, and it all started with this OOTD image on my Instagram. I bought this tee from Marshalls on a whim (it was on clearance!) and I'm glad I did! I love the color; sage is the best green for me to wear up close to my face I think. Taking inspiration from the combination of sage and cobalt, I tried styling it just a little differently but with the same color inspiration...

A foolproof, classic color combination will always been an monochromatic scheme. Here, I've added splashes of blue to my gray & silver palette, a perfectly icy combination for winter. If you are timid about spending money on new home accents, try adding a Marsala pillow or votive holder. Ready to commit to this classic color? Try a side chair or accent lighting! And for coffee lovers, Marsala can greet you every morning with a tasty brew in your coordinating mug.

Marsala: Closet Edition

As you might be aware, Pantone released the Color of the Year for 2015: Marsala, a beautiful burnt wine color. I have a few pieces from my own closet featuring this stunning color, but I'd love to add more! While Marsala is a trend, it is also a very classic color that will stand the test of time. This is a great color to buy investment pieces in; such as a classic pencil skirt or sophisticated heel. If you are unsure about Marsala, try a cute and simple cross body bag, or a detailed tee.

Five Friday Favorites

At last, I completed my only final exam yesterday and my break can officially start! I'm off to Daytona to spend time with Kyle, then we go on a cruise, then I go to Colorado... It's going to be a whirlwind of a break but I'm so excited! But for now, here is a little bit about how my week went...

1. After my haircut and color last Friday, I was inspired to spend my Monday cleaning and having a spa day. Many people might not put those two together, but cleaning is fairly therapeutic for me so it works! 

2. There is a great resale shop in Tallahassee that always has a great selection of brand name clothes, and I picked up a couple new tops to wear over break. I'm thinking the black and white one will be great for a date night with Kyle, and the tan striped one will be nice for our cruise.

3. As some of you might know, my little kitty boy Berlioz is prone to UTI's. Recently, he's had another bought of irritation, and so in order to save a little money at the vet I learned how to give him fluids with an IV to help flush out his system. I absolutely hate needles, so it was a huge deal for me to a) hold a needle b) stick my own cat with a needle and c) do it daily for almost a week. I finished up this wee, and it definitely wasn't easy, but I'm really proud of myself for taking that leap and facing my fears! Especially since this is going to be a lifelong problem for him, and something I will need to do again. 

4. In packing for my trip, I discovered just how hard it is to pack for three different climates over the course of a month! In order to avoid bringing too much excess clothes, I did a lot of trying things on, and this quote by Kate Spade came to mind. I definitely have to agree with her here!

5. I went out for burgers with my brother before I left town, since I won't see him until later this month. Gotta love brother-sister bonding time!

Lately in my style choices I feel like I gravitate towards neutrals that can be paired with anything and everything. One neutral is challenging for me, and that is the tan/taupe/mocha color. Personally, I find it hard to find things of this category that don't look like I'm naked, and that don't make me look washed out. (Just being honest!) So when I came across this top at LOFT the other day, I was a little hesitant to try it on. I loved the color, but I know how many times I have been disappointed in the dressing room with these light neutrals. Thankfully, I was not! The lilac tones in the top add just enough of color to not make it work for my skin tone.  I foresee this top will be very versatile in the cooler months to come, and it ended up pairing perfectly with the Opulence necklace from Premier, which I have a hard time pairing with things for casual wear. Trip to LOFT? Success for my closet!

I love red and burgundy tones for fall. Not only are they reminiscent of the holidays --and a cousin to this years Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid-- but they provide a fantastic pop of color to layered ensembles. Especially for colder climates, layering is a must in the winter. But how can you layer without looking like the Michelin Man? 

The answer is by adding layers that provide a statement color, and keeping the other layers more neutral.  By doing this, it provides depth to your outfit, adds interest, and makes bundling up for cooler temperatures ten time more fun! What other reasons do you need?

Fall Colors

Premier released their new catalog while I was in Europe, which features many of the great color trends we have to look forward to this fall when it comes to fashion. Naturally, it got me thinking about leaves falling from the trees and cuddling up in scarves--quite a drastic change from the hotness of late summer! Some of my favorite colors to come? See below!

I'm loving these color combinations, and I think they can transition into winter with the addition of some darker colors like charcoal gray and black.

I'm especially excited for the above colors. I have a camel leather jacket I can't wait to wear, a creme tweed jacket perfect for cooler months, and a blush blazer I'm ready to sport again. My recently acquired dove grey jeans got a lot of use in Europe, and I'm excited to transition them into fall. With FSU being the Garnet & the Gold, I already have a lot of burgundy I am ready to wear not just on game day. As far as peacock blue goes, I am looking forward to adding some to my wardrobe!

Neon Tee For Night

Yesterday, I showed you how I wore a neon tee for daytime. Today, I'm sharing how I switched up my look for a fun girls night out for dinner!I traded my shorts for silky printed pants, sandals for shiny flats, and switched up my jewelry to add in more silver accents. I love the result! Fun, dressy, and still 100% comfortable!

Neon Tee For Day

I have never really hopped on board with the neon trend, but when I picked up this lemon-lime tee at LOFT I decided I would take a chance. I have worn it so much since I purchased it! Neon is not only great for summer, but it can go from day to night with ease. Today, I'm sharing a day look with this casual tee. I love the mix of the neon with the brick red shorts! Something New: Gray Jeans

As mentioned in this post last week, I recently acquired a pair of gray skinny jeans from the LOFT (these!). While it's not necessarily jean weather here in Florida, there is a possibility they might be going with me to Europe this summer, so I'm starting to think about what I'll wear with them. Gray is my favorite neutral, and if I can't figure out what to wear my go-to is a simple gray tee, bold colorful necklace, and jean bottoms. So when I saw these gray jeans on super clearance ($5!) in the store, I knew I'd figure out how to style them no problem. Surprisingly, a Pinterest search for "gray skinny jeans" did not yield quite the plethora of ideas I had hoped for. Does this mean gray jeans are not "in"? Or do people just not come across them in stores very often? Nevertheless, I plan on rocking them and sharing how I style them. Five Friday Favorites

This week has flown by! Actually, this summer is flying by in general! In less than a month I'll be taking a break from my blog to go to Europe with my family... I'm so excited! But until then, this is what happened to me this week...

1. I went on a nice morning jog Sunday morning.

2. I wore this cute nautical-inspired outfit for Premier training Monday night!

3. My summer class is almost over... two tests this week! I'm actually a little sad, because I've really been enjoying learning about the brain and all it's complex features, processes, and resulting behaviors.

4. Long distance is never easy, and it doesn't come with a textbook to guide you to success. 

This week was a little trying on Kyle and I, but this quote reminds me that in the end it's all worth it and we will be made stronger because of what we've been through for so many years. 

5. If you love color like I do, go pick up the July issue of InStyle Magazine so you can get this awesome pull out guide to color pairing! I'll definitely be keeping this near my closet for reference later.
