Black & White

Tuesday, March 3, 2015

Royal Robbins Shirt / Kenar Pants from Marshalls (similar) / Moda Spana Heels (similar)
Kenneth Cole Bag (similar) / Jewelry is a mix of sentimental pieces and Premier Designs

I love the combination of black and white, and the sense of sophistication it exudes. Even the most basic of closet items, like a button down, are elegant in black or white. Here, I've paired mine with a pair of printed pants and classic pumps. Keeping jewelry simple adds to the classic tone of the outfit, especially when they are sentimental pieces. I always think it's good to add an element of fun to any outfit, so for this look I added a printed bag for a little pattern mixing.

On a different note, I am beyond ready to get a haircut when I go back home soon! It's in bad need of a little cleaning up, and on Sunday when I was taking these pictures the humidity didn't help the overall puffy feeling of my hair (even if it doesn't look that way!).

Have a great Tuesday!

Sage + Cobalt

Tuesday, February 17, 2015

I have a new obsession, and it all started with this OOTD image on my Instagram. I bought this tee from Marshalls on a whim (it was on clearance!) and I'm glad I did! I love the color; sage is the best green for me to wear up close to my face I think. Taking inspiration from the combination of sage and cobalt, I tried styling it just a little differently but with the same color inspiration...

Cynthia Rowley Top / Kenar Pants (both c/o Marshalls)

Now I think I need some more sage in my closet! I think it's my favorite pastel this spring... What are you loving and wearing on repeat right now?

Wednesday Wish List: Anthropologie

Wednesday, October 29, 2014

I recently found myself perusing Anthropologie's website... Sigh. How is it that they manage to blend elegance, style, casual, and bohemian flare into a one stop shop?! Bless them. Anywho, these are just some pieces that I think are absolutely amazing and perfect for fall. Maybe they will just appear in my closet tomorrow morning? Nah, probably not. But they are certainly in the closet of my alter ego, a Caroline that is not in college with a limited budget. She's fabulous! :)

Happy Wednesday and happy hump day!

Prints On Prints

Tuesday, September 16, 2014

Top: old, from Gap (similar) / Pants: Marshalls (similar) / Flats: DSW (same)
Belt: old / Jewelry: Premier Designs

Mixing prints is such a fun trend, yet a tricky one to pull off. The trick? Keep the colors in the two prints the same, and mix a larger print with a smaller print. Here, I have large black polka dots paired with a more detailed print, which fetters black and cobalt blue. I brought back more dots with my black flats, which have subtle polka dots in the fabric. And voila! Three prints in one outfit without looking overwhelming. A bonus, is a look like this is perfect for an office environment. I'm taking a mental note for my next class presentation in Studio 2...

If you follow me on Instagram, then you saw how I switched up this look for Chapter on Sunday night!

Five Friday Favorites: Recent Obsessions

Friday, September 5, 2014

Happy Friday & Happy Upcoming Weekend!
After a long Labor Day Weekend, it was really hard getting back into the swing of classes again so you can imagine how glad I am that another weekend is here. I need a little break and the semester has only barely started! But aside from that, I thought I'd mix up this weeks Five Friday Favorites by sharing 5 things I'm only slightly obsessed with currently. Only slightly. :)

1. Jane.com Boutique Deals has now become part of my morning routine. I wake up, roll over, and look through today's deals, which I get emailed to me. I don't know how I feel about this. So far, I haven't actually spent that much money, which is surprising, but I guess my self restraint is stronger than I thought! For all things home decor, clothing, and accessories, Jane.com is the place to be.
At least that's where I am at 7am.

2. theSkimm is a fab little company that delivers the news highlights straight to your email inbox each morning. I've always liked watching the news, but being in college for most students means being a little out of the loop, whether it's lack of money to spend on cable or just lack of time. But theSkimms' short & sweet updates keep me informed while I sip my coffee. Or chug.

3. Speaking of coffee... yeah, so I think I've become a coffee in the morning person. I can function without it, but I've noticed I have more energy in the afternoon if I've had coffee in the morning. Like my jane.com obsession, I don't know how I feel about this.

4. Moving on to a clothing obsession. Or two. Maybe three... Anyway, I have been wearing the heck out of my linen, palazzo, and tapered printed pants! Recently it seems like I'm washing them every single week, and pining to pull them out of the dirty clothes bin. Additionally, I have been lusting over the idea of tunics & leggings. Those of you who know me personally know that I do not like leaving the house in yoga pants/leggings/workout clothes unless I'm actually going to workout. But my dear friend Lauren, as well as many other girls I see around campus, rock the tunic-and-legging look and I've decided I want in! I don't know if there is a secret password for this elite club, but I'll find out!
Left Tunic (from Jane! Are you shocked?!) / Right Tunic

5. My final obsession is not recent by any means. Last weekend, my boyfriend drove up and he not only was just here (which means hugs!) but he also put on a new screen protector on my phone, installed a new shower head for me, and made my brother and I lunch. He's just so sweet and caring, and I thank God everyday that I get to have Kyle in my life & call him mine. :)

But enough about my obsessions, what is catching your eye recently?!
Have a great weekend!

Neon Tee For Night

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

Tee: LOFT / Pants: Marshalls (similar here) / Flats: DSW / Jewelry: Premier Designs

Yesterday, I showed you how I wore a neon tee for daytime. Today, I'm sharing how I switched up my look for a fun girls night out for dinner!I traded my shorts for silky printed pants, sandals for shiny flats, and switched up my jewelry to add in more silver accents. I love the result! Fun, dressy, and still 100% comfortable!
Which look is your favorite? How do you style neon?

Five Friday Favorites: Fashion Edition

Friday, May 2, 2014

This week has primarily consisted of studying for my last final, taking my last final, then lounging at home relaxing. (And getting back into blogging!) So I decided to share some of my latest outfits instead of my normal Friday post this week.

1. I'm loving my printed pants! I rocked them the other day for this beachy-casual look for class. I'm so glad I said yes to my gut on this impulse buy... I wear them all the time. I found mine at Marshall's, but there are some similar ones here and here!

2. Pulled out my hunter green dress trousers and paired them with hot pink and this leopard resin necklace from Premier for a presentation day in my Graphics class! Chic but still fun.

3. I found this cute dress at a local boutique, and I can't wait to wear it!

4. Another beach-inspired look, this time with these amazing peach linen pants! I got so many compliments on this look (don't you love days like that?!).

5. Just a casual look for class with jean shorts and a tee. I love this Premier Designs necklace from our Spring Catalog-- I wear it all the time! And this GAP shirt is so so soft & comfy (shop it here)

Have a great weekend!

Global Style Inspirations

Wednesday, March 19, 2014

Anthropologie is the greatest thing. Not only are their clothes super cute, their home stuff is adorable, and their store displays are so inspiring. Yes, their regular priced merchandise is a little out of my price range, but their sales are sometimes great! I love dreaming and looking through their inspirational outfit ideas. Now that spring break is over, I am already looking ahead to my trip this summer with my family--a cruise on the Rhine River in Europe! I'm so looking forward to it, and these cute global-inspired looks from Anthropologie's latest look book are leaving me wanting to travel!

Aren't you inspired to just take off on the first flight out of town, out of the country?

Tahitian Dreams

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

Nautical is trending right now in fashion, but in my opinion it's always in style. The classic patterns, the look of crisp white against navy, blue, and reds... always a good go-to look!

I have this dream of one day being a "rich and shameless designer" and being able to splurge on my mom and I to go on a spa weekend to Tahiti. Or Fiji. Heck, why not both! So when I was thinking about the nautical trend the other day, I started thinking about spring break, and about my eventual trip to Tahiti. If I could get on a plane right now to go there, I would, and this is what I would pack...

But alas, not today. Instead I'm just stuck in Tallahassee cramming for midterms and trying to finish the endless projects due before Spring Break. Boo!

Have a great Wednesday!

Linking Up With: Three For Thursday Linkup

Insta-Outfits for the Week

Thursday, February 13, 2014

I've had a couple cute outfits this week, and if you follow me on Instagram you might have already seen them but I thought I'd share them with you today! The first one was my Monday outfit, which features the awesome printed pants I talked about in this post. I love these pants! They are so easy, so comfy, and so stylish! Once I'm past my "No Shopping In February" Challenge I might have to keep my eye out for a second pair. Pants like these will be a great winter to spring transition, and something you could even wear into the summer.

The next outfit was my Wednesday outfit. It was a rainy and gross day yesterday here in Tallahassee, and this combo was just enough to make it a little bit better. My leopard rain boots paired well with the polka dots (the patterns are way different sizes) and I loved the Premier jewelry I selected to wear with it.

Personally, I always feel like I put way more effort in on Monday and Wednesday, partially because of the nature of my classes those days (inside all day as opposed to Tuesday & Thursday when I'm in the furniture design studio and trekking it all around campus). Do you have days you naturally put in more effort?

Linking Up with Everyday Fashion and Finance and Perfectly Coutured today for their Three-fer Thursday Linkup! Check out their awesome blogs!
