{Not} Instagram Famous

Wednesday, October 7, 2015

The last 5 days or so for me have been particularly crazy! Yesterday my final deliverables were due for our high end residential project, and all weekend I was working non stop on all the finishing touches; I'll share the details of the project at a later date (when I have a chance to take a step back and self reflect)! Today I'm sharing a few Outfit Of The Day pictures that just never made it into my Instagram...

Cute, Comfy & Casual for class. These straight leg jeans were a recent thrift store find and they've been on repeat since I got them! They are so comfortable, and they are probably the closet thing to "boyfriend" jeans that I am comfortable getting. Here I styled them with a cowl-neck detail tank, cozy cardigan because my classrooms are always chilly, and Keds. Premier Jewelry of course!

Premier Training. This was the top I got from my latest Stitch Fix that I fell in love with so much I refused to take it off. I skillfully cut the tags off while it was still on, added one of my current favorite Premier necklaces, and was out the door for Premier Training. I'm still using my summmery mint handbag, but I'm phasing it out seeing as it's definitely not summer anymore.

Graphic Tee. Another outfit with the almost-boyfriend jeans! Here I paired them with a comfy baseball sleeved tee I got in Yellowstone over the summer, tucked in on one side for a hint of refinement. Easy & comfortable for classes. I didn't forget my Premier watch & a watch buddy!

As I finishing writing this I realized that I am wearing cuffed jeans in all three of these outfits... Funny!

Hope you have a great Wednesday.

Behind the #OOTD

Thursday, March 12, 2015

Today I'm sharing a little Behind-The-Scenes look at a couple of my latest #OOTD's on Instagram, because these outfits were too cute not to go into more detail on! If you don't already follow me on Instagram, then you are missing out my friend. Trust me :)

#OOTD Number 1
This is the outfit I wore to meet my friend for coffee and studying (don't worry, I had a chai tea latte since I gave up coffee for Lent!). The poncho actually didn't make it out the door, because the second I stepped outside I realized I needed a heavier coat, and this poncho didn't quite fit underneath it. Oh well, it happens!
Outfit Details: Old Navy Tee / Kelly & Katie via DSW Poncho / iT! Jeans (similar)

#OOTD Number 2
I am so in love with this sweater and this outfit that it was the first thing I packed in my suitcase for Colorado! Another reason why Stitch Fix is the best--I probably wouldn't have purchased this on my own, but when it's sent right to you by a personal stylist, it's easier to try something new. Also, the background of this first picture makes me laugh! Berlioz had had a field day the night before, so all his favorite pens & toys are all over my floor. You can also see his tail hiding under a piece of packing paper that came in something I ordered... Gotta love animals!

Outfit Details: Skies Are Blue via Sitch Fix Sweater / Kim & Cami Tunic via Marshalls

I hope you enjoyed this little behind the scenes look, and I hope you have a happy Thursday :)

Five Friday Favorites

Friday, February 13, 2015

Last week I dropped the ball on my Five Friday Favorites, just because my world has been so crazy with project overload. But I'm back! So here's a look at some of my favorite outfits recently...

1. This navy sweater is one of my favorite pieces, and I love it paired with the colors in the Belize necklace by Premier Designs.

2. My outfit for a Premier show on Sunday was a classic hit, featuring my new cross body purse that I'm in love with! Love the pop of cobalt in my flats.

3. Yesterday, I wore this comfy ensemble to transition from class to a long car trip to go see Kyle. I am 100% obsessed with this dress made by Lovestitch Clothing. (Find it here and here).

4. Last night we went out to dinner to celebrate our 6 year anniversary... It's crazy to think we've been dating since high school, but I can't imaging spending these years with anyone else. On an outfit note, for once I actually wore exactly what I had planned! I belted this fun, bright scarf I received as a Christmas gift over a sleek black dress, added some fun jewelry, and I'm happy that what I had pictured looking good was a success! That is not always the case.

5. Now that my flight is officially booked, I can't wait to be heading home in March! I love & have been missing Colorado so much lately. I mean, what's not to love?!

Happy Valentines and Happy Weekend!

Five Friday Favorites

Friday, September 12, 2014

My sentiments exactly-- Happy Fri-Yay! Here's what happened in my life this week:

1. I started the week off with this cute jewelry combo, courtesy of Premier Designs, and paired with a colorful maxi dress. The perfect dressed-up yet comfortable look for a Chapter Meeting.

2. I may or may not have spent too much money at Ulta... #beautyjunkie

3. I snapped this gorgeous photo of the stadium while I was walking around campus the other day. What a gorgeous school I attend!

4. In my Studio 2 class, we are working on a research & design project that is a collaboration of sorts with Herman Miller, and we had a few groups present their findings to them last night. Very cool stuff, and the Herman Miller reps that were present were so nice! I'm so proud to be an FSU Interior Design student, and to be a part of such an amazing program that connects us to working professionals.

5. On the interior design note, I have absolutely no homework this weekend. NONE. ZIP. ZERO. Since when?! I think all us 3rd-years are so confused (we always have work, even the first week of classes) and don't know what to do with ourselves this weekend.
Sleep. What is that? Go have fun. How?

Who knows what I'll get into this weekend, but it's going to be fun!
I hope y'all have a great Friday and a fabulous weekend!

Five Friday Favorites

Friday, August 8, 2014

It seems like it's been a long week! Anyone else feel this way? Maybe I'm still getting over how excruciatingly long my drive from Daytona to Tallahassee felt yesterday... it felt like I was never going to get home, like in Monty Python when they are riding towards the castle but it doesn't look like they are getting any closer! But anyway, it's been a fun week, and here's why!

1. I put together this outfit featuring a necklace and earring set from the new Premier catalog! I loved how the delicate necklace plays off the delicate lace and neutral tones of my outfit.

2. So Kyle has a brand new fancy Mazda 6 to get to work and back while saving on gas. It's such a pretty car, but it's also a manual. It's great for Kyle, because he loves driving manual--he lights up like a little kid, it's so cute! I can tell he's in his element for sure. But, for me? Not so good, because I don't know how to drive it! So he's teaching me, because obviously at some point I'm probably going to have to drive it. He's a very patient teacher--I think I was more nervous about messing up his brand new car than he was! But we had a few laughs and we'll keep practicing.

3. Unfortunately Kyle had an overtime shift this week, so that sucked a little bit since I hadn't seen him since before I left for Europe, but I'm used to it by now. It comes with the territory of dating a fireman. What else was a girl to do than go hang out by the beach, reading and tanning?! And shopping of course, where I picked up this fun pink-navy-aqua ensemble that I think kinda really works!

4. Y'all, I really love my man Kyle. He is just the sweetest guy ever, always caring for me and about what's going on in my life. He's a great provider of friendship, love, and... food! He cooked me a wonderful steak dinner, which was sweet and unexpected. :)

5. On my agenda for today... Haircut! Putting some finishing touches on my new apartment! Berlioz gets to go to the vet for shots! Dinner with my BFF! It's going to be a fun day :)

Happy Friday, y'all! Have a great weekend!

This week has flown by! Actually, this summer is flying by in general! In less than a month I'll be taking a break from my blog to go to Europe with my family... I'm so excited! But until then, this is what happened to me this week...

1. I went on a nice morning jog Sunday morning.

2. I wore this cute nautical-inspired outfit for Premier training Monday night!

3. My summer class is almost over... two tests this week! I'm actually a little sad, because I've really been enjoying learning about the brain and all it's complex features, processes, and resulting behaviors.

4. Long distance is never easy, and it doesn't come with a textbook to guide you to success.
This week was a little trying on Kyle and I, but this quote reminds me that in the end it's all worth it and we will be made stronger because of what we've been through for so many years.

5. If you love color like I do, go pick up the July issue of InStyle Magazine so you can get this awesome pull out guide to color pairing! I'll definitely be keeping this near my closet for reference later.

Happy Weekend!

Dressing Room Diaries: LOFT

Thursday, June 19, 2014

The other day I found myself in LOFT, looking to take advantage of a great sale they had going on on t's and tanks.
Naturally, I ended up trying on a couple other things!

My favorite was this light tunic pullover...
I love the lightness of the fabric, the fun color, and the ease with which you could throw this on over a swimsuit
at the beach or a tank like I've done here. I wasn't able to get it now, but it's certainly on my wish list.
(I did get the grey jeans though... $5 on super final sale clearance! Whoohoo!)
Shop this outfit... Tunic / Tank  / Jeans (sorry, they aren't as on sale online!)

My LOFT wish list...

Also, LOFT is having a great sale right now, everything is 40% off with code ONBOARD, in stores & online! Happy Shopping!

Five Friday Favorites

Friday, June 13, 2014

Most of this week was spent either laying in bed or sitting up in bed with a horrible case of sinus allergies, but with spurts of energy and allergy meds kicking in, it still managed to be a fun week!

1. While putting away clean dishes, a certain rambunctious kitty boy by the name of Berlioz discovered a "fun" new spot, much to his mom's dismay.

2. The debate about which book to start after finishing The American Heiress still continues, even after seeking out help on social media. (Help me choose! Her Fearful Symmetry or One Thousand White Women?)

3. I wore this cute outfit, accessorized by Premier Jewelry of course!

4. I dug up this candid shot from years ago in celebration of my dad's birthday... Classic Amy family antics here, circa late 1990's. Notice my headphones, choker necklace, and bandanna hairpiece. Oh so stylish!

5. I have cooked these eggplant pizzas twice this week. Recipe to come soon! They are so so yummy!

Have an awesome weekend, my stylish readers!

Fashion Lately: Seabreeze

Wednesday, June 4, 2014

Source: Pinterest

I have been wearing the Premier necklace Seabreeze non-stop this past week or so! I love the granulated beads, the ombre mint, and the many different ways you can wear it. It's a very versatile piece, and Jewelers across the country have been selling it like hotcakes! This necklace is the perfect summer necklace because it's fun, lightweight, and a vacation in jewelry form.
Can you hear the ocean yet?! :)

Here I paired it with tan and bright pink, with accents of silver for a fun summery look.

Yesterday, I wore it with a cobalt blue dress to really pop the color!

To buy Seabreeze and many other great pieces of jewelry, check out my Premier Designs blog tab for more information!

Fashion Lately: Maxed Out

Tuesday, June 3, 2014

On Sunday, I came into Tallahassee from Daytona just in time to pick up my mom & my brother from the airport! They are here for his Freshman Orientation at FSU, and he seems really excited! And I'm excited to have them here for a couple days, to get some more family time in. On that note, I'm keeping today's post and tomorrow's post pretty simple... Just going to share some outfits I've been wearing recently! Today I'm sharing how I've been wearing the maxi trend.

I love this simple maxi skirt and black blouse look that has been embellished with accessories to up the ante!
Very boho, very comfy!

Here, I love the pops of white that tone down the crazy colors in this maxi dress!
(I wore this look to my brother high school graduation the other weekend.)

Happy Tuesday!

Here is what happened in my world this week....

1. I started my summer class, intro to Brain & Behavior, which is the last FSU-required credit I need. After this, it's all Interior Design and Hospitality... Boo-ya!

2. I saw The Other Woman in theaters with a bunch of girlfriends for a girls night... So funny! If you love Bridesmaids, this movie is definitely on par. Great story line (not the same old thing in every chick flick), and very funny throughout. Go see it!

3. I'm easing myself back in to working out, since I was seriously slacking as the semester came to a close. Starting fresh (essentially that's what is happening!) is never easy, but thankfully I have my workout buddy by my yoga mat to help me out! lol!

4. I tried this yummy new beverage from Whole Foods!

5. Yesterday I had to do some Premier-related errands, so I added some fun accessories to my summer go-to, white denim & chambray. And yes, those are the flats I mentioned in this post... I got them in, and I am loving them!

Have a great Friday & weekend, y'all!

Five Friday Favorites: Fashion Edition

Friday, May 2, 2014

This week has primarily consisted of studying for my last final, taking my last final, then lounging at home relaxing. (And getting back into blogging!) So I decided to share some of my latest outfits instead of my normal Friday post this week.

1. I'm loving my printed pants! I rocked them the other day for this beachy-casual look for class. I'm so glad I said yes to my gut on this impulse buy... I wear them all the time. I found mine at Marshall's, but there are some similar ones here and here!

2. Pulled out my hunter green dress trousers and paired them with hot pink and this leopard resin necklace from Premier for a presentation day in my Graphics class! Chic but still fun.

3. I found this cute dress at a local boutique, and I can't wait to wear it!

4. Another beach-inspired look, this time with these amazing peach linen pants! I got so many compliments on this look (don't you love days like that?!).

5. Just a casual look for class with jean shorts and a tee. I love this Premier Designs necklace from our Spring Catalog-- I wear it all the time! And this GAP shirt is so so soft & comfy (shop it here)

Have a great weekend!

Being sick really takes it out of you, and I've still got a lingering cough so I'll keep today's post simple and to the point. Here's what been going on in my life lately!

1. I treated myself to a spa day (with the help of an unused Christmas gift card from my sweet boyfriend!) which included a 1.5 hour long massage and getting my hair cut! As mentioned in this post, I was ready to do something different, and I am loving my new hair! It's so fun, so me, and so much easier to take care of!

2. On Sunday, my first day of being really sick, I got a sweet & unexpected surprise from Kyle. He popped in on his way to his grandparents house, so that he could check in on his sick girlfriend and feed her some soup. :)

3. I pulled out my first item from "purgatory"! I went in my closet with an outfit in mind and was very confused when I couldn't find my white top with black polka dots. At first I was so confused, trying to think of if I maybe left it in Daytona the last time I was there or if I had a load in the washer, and then I remembered my purgatory! (Read this post if you are confused at what I'm talking about! lol)

4. This outfit was a cute & comfy success... check out my hair curled!

5. I spent some quality time with my bestie Caroline (we call ourselves C-Squared) which was long overdue! We saw Captain America 2... So good!

Have a great weekend, y'all! I hope you've got something fun going on! I've got a ton of homework to get done before Sunday, which is my sorority's sisterhood retreat to Seaside, FL. Beach dayyyyy!!!

Not Your Everyday Chambray

Tuesday, April 1, 2014

The chambray button down is a classic staple in closets across America, mine included. I have two chambray shirts, one from J. Crew Factory almost identical to the one above, and another from LOFT Outlet that has more of a blousey look. Currently, the JCF one is in purgatory (see this post if you have no idea what I'm talking about!) because I simply don't wear at as often. What I love about my LOFT shirt is that it's original, it's not your everyday chambray button down. Yet it still has a classic look to it.

Why settle for the everyday, seen-everywhere style? Chambray is a huge trend right now, and there are a plethora of other options for incorporating it into your wardrobe, like the ones below. I challenge y'all to think outside the box. Be original, be yourself. Don't be a fool for fashion...

Happy Chambray, Happy April Fools, and Happy Day my beautiful readers!
