Wedding Wednesday: Preliminary Centerpiece Ideas

Wednesday, April 29, 2015

As the semester comes to a close, I have a little more time to think about preparing for my trip to Italy, as well as all things wedding planning. In running my errands yesterday, I found myself inside HomeGoods. (A fairly common occurrence. It's like I just magically end up there, half the time I don't know how I get there. I swear!) Anyway, I found the cutest color dipped "J" and fell in love. My first thought was too bad I'm not Mrs. Kyle Jones yet, because then I could take it home with me and really justify it! But then I had an alternative idea... Centerpieces! I have already decided that I'd like each table to have something a little different on it, just for variety and because I can! I think it would just add an element of fun, which I really like. So I thought what if some tables had "J's" on them, in a variety of styles? Post-wedding they could make a fun gallery wall collage, with pictures incorporated.

It got me thinking about some of the other centerpiece ideas I've had...

A variety of flowers in shorter vases. I love calla lilies! (Source)

Anyway, those are just a few of my preliminary ideas. I definitely want each table to be a little different, not so cookie cutter. And I love flowers but I don't LOVE flowers, so I'm not opposed to skimping on them. I'm excited to decide on the date and venue when I get back from Italy, which will then propel many more finalized decisions to be made.

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Mis-Matched Bridesmaids

Tuesday, July 8, 2014

I remember years ago my mom and I having a discussion about how nice of an idea it is to give your bridesmaids a little flexibility with their dresses. Whether it's letting them each wear a color that looks good on them, or letting them pick their favorite style, mis-matched bridesmaids dresses are certainly in style. While I'm not getting married anytime soon, a girl can still dream, so I'd like to share some of my favorite mis-matched looks!
The sparkles, the different necklines... Perfection! (Source)

Lately I'm Loving...

Monday, June 16, 2014

1. JOGGING. I've been trying to do a power walk/jog around my apartment complex and surrounding area either in the morning to make myself get going on days I don't have class, or at night before dinner to relax and sleep after having coffee. I'm loving it, and I want to keep this up! No schedule, just when I can. (photo credit)2. THIS QUOTE. Just perfect. (photo credit)3. BRALETTES. This is the perfect lounging/sleeping bra! The lace band underneath gives pretty decent support, and it's so soft... I already have two!
4. LEOPARD DRESSES. So cute! Shop it here5. THIS WEDDING. I would love a picture like this, especially with Kyle being a firefighter! (And no, we aren't engaged, but I know he's the one :) ). 6. PREMIER DESIGNS JEWELRY. I am just loving my company right now! I had a wonderful talk recently with my Premier Mom, and I'm setting some awesome goals for myself... I just feel like the time is finally right for me to shine! (The picture is a throwback to meeting our founder Andy Horner at National Rally in 2012!)
7. SQUAT LIKE... This tank makes me laugh, and it's so true! lol! Found on Etsy. 8. EATING RIGHT. Not that I was eating really bad before, but I'm trying to really keep up with my clean eating cleanse that I did with my roommates. I am feeling less bloated, more "fresh" (if that makes any sort of sense), and I have more energy. Eating more fresh foods has been the key, and more fruits that I was eating before. I've also been avoiding gluten better that I have in the past, as well as rice and wheat. (photo credit).

Happy Monday!

Five Friday Favorites

Friday, September 20, 2013

Well I will just start off by saying that it has been a long week! So happy it's Friday and I can relax a little! Here is a snapshot of what happened in my world this past week...

1. Colorado got hit hard late last week by huge amounts of rain (very unnatural for us) & that led to mass amounts of flooding. The mountains made for lots of damage all along the Front Range, which is the area I am from. My family is ok, our home was not damaged, but the flood water came close. The first picture shows how a street across the park from my house merged with the creek! The second picture shows just how much the creek rose in the flooding, you can see the depth of it very clearly. Crazy stuff!

2. Kyle and I went to a wedding for one of his paramedic school buddies--it was a lot of fun, and I even was able to drag him out on the dance floor for a couple slow dances! That is a huge success in itself, you have no idea! lol

3. Speaking of my sweet boyfriend, he fought his first fire on Monday at work! I'm so proud of him and everything he has accomplished.

4. I turned in my first project for the semester in my Interior Design Studio One class. We had a model and a presentation, and both went over well! Several late nights went into it, but in the end I was very pleased with how my project turned out! :)

5. I got goofy with my kitty on one of those late nights... enough said!

Happy Weekend, everyone!

Unique Wedding Favors

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

I've been to enough weddings to know that favors are nice but not necessary. As long as the bride and groom get happily hitched and the guests have fun, that's all the "favor" I need! However, favors can be a fun way for guests to remember the evening, especially when they are as unique as the ones above!

What unique favors have you received at a wedding?
