Wedding Wednesday: If I Wasn't Wearing Boots

Wednesday, November 18, 2015

It's been awhile since a Wedding Wednesday post, since I'm keeping many of the planning details to myself for now, but I thought today we'd talk about something fun: wedding day shoes! I've shared with y'all that I'm wearing cowboy boots on my wedding day, but I got to thinking the other day, what would I wear if it wasn't boots? So I've rounded up several gorgeous heels that I would totally consider if I wasn't so dead set on boots!

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9

While these are all gorgeous options, my favorites would have to be the rose gold Badly Mischka number (it would totally match my ring!), the nude lace pair by Dune London (perfect for a sweet spring time wedding), and I am kinda digging the sultry edginess of the lacey shooties by L.K. Bennett.

What shoes did you wear on your wedding day? Or what do you plan on wearing?

Wedding Wednesday: Beachside Dress Shopping

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

Maxi Dress via Jane.com / Nine West Bag / Premier Designs Jewelry / Nurture Sandals (old)

This is actually the outfit I wore last Friday when I took my mom and brother with me to look at wedding dresses in Jacksonville. We had a lot of fun, on the drive there and back as well as the dress shopping itself, and I was glad my brother was willing to come along and give a guys point of view! Since we had a long day ahead of us, when I dressed in the morning I wanted something comfortable, and this maxi fit the bill! I paired it with this Premier necklace from our spring line, Monterey, that has natural shell pieces that picked up the colors of the dress and my mint handbag. The necklace totally makes this outfit!

Now I know y'all probably want to see pictures of the dresses I tried on, but I'm keeping those memories for myself. Instead, I'll share my Instagram from the day, the little detailing on my top two favorite dresses. Which one do you think I "said yes to" and ordered? :) And no, this isn't an April Fool's joke!

After dress shopping, we went to Joe's Crab Shack for lunch, and enjoyed the perfect spring breeze coming off of the ocean. As Kyle and I discuss leaving Florida after I graduate, I will have to say that I will miss the beach very much... It's become a larger part of my,  and our, life! But that doesn't mean we can't visit :)

Have a great Wednesday, my lovely readers!

Five Friday Favorites

Friday, March 6, 2015

Happy Friday, my lovely readers. As I write this, I am officially on Spring Break!!!!!! (insert huge sign of relief) This morning I slept in till 8:00--I am an early riser by nature but if felt great to not set an alarm. Also, I'm trying a new format for Five Friday Favorites, and I hope you like it! So without further ado, here's a little bit about my week...

1. I finalized and turned in my Pre-Design booklet for our current Studio project. This is only the first half of the project, the client research and concept development phase, but it still feels good to have this milestone complete. Even though I put it off because my mind was already in spring break mode, I had fun with Bubble Diagramming and Blocking Diagramming to help figure out my space plan. I love the colors I'm using on this project!
2. I was perusing Pinterest (the usual) and I came across this breathtaking wedding gown. While that day is quite a ways away (years in fact), I think I might have found my dress! Lol! It has everything I love; the buttons on the back, the lace, modest yet still sexy, and the way it flows is just beautiful. I guess I should start saving now...
3. One of the perks about sorority life is hot breakfast... Mmmm yummy! I have always been a breakfast food person, and this meal this week made a long day of Studio go by a lot better. Breakfast is truly the most important meal of the day.
4 & 5. Obviously I was in a neutrals-and-blues-and-mint type of mood this week, as seen in my OOTD posts on Instagram. I loved both of these outfits, and I think they both exhibit the notion that jewelry and accessories make the outfit.

I hope you all have a great Friday and an amazing weekend! See you next week!

Why I'll Be Wearing Boots

Monday, September 29, 2014

I love my cowboy boots. They go line dancing with me, they go struttin' around campus with me, they go to football games, they go to construction site visits, they go to dusty farms... My boots are like a piece of me. So when my BFF Caroline decided her belated 21st birthday party was going to be Music City themed after her summer in Nashville for an internship, you can imagine how ready I was to put on my boots!

While we were celebrating, I started line dancing because that's just what I do when a good country song comes on and I'm wearing boots. And then while I was dancing I had a revelation, regarding my debate between wearing heels or boots on my wedding day. Obviously that day is a couple years down the road, but it occurred to me in that moment how much confidence my boots give me. Not that I'm not confident without them, but with boots on my feet I feel beautiful, unstoppable, and on top of the world. That's the feeling I want on my wedding day; that's why I'll be wearing boots.

And I'll especially be wearing boots if it's all beautiful and snowy! I'd never thought of a winter wedding until I saw this picture... Hmm :)

Mis-Matched Bridesmaids

Tuesday, July 8, 2014

I remember years ago my mom and I having a discussion about how nice of an idea it is to give your bridesmaids a little flexibility with their dresses. Whether it's letting them each wear a color that looks good on them, or letting them pick their favorite style, mis-matched bridesmaids dresses are certainly in style. While I'm not getting married anytime soon, a girl can still dream, so I'd like to share some of my favorite mis-matched looks!
