Shoe Love is True Love

Monday, March 2, 2015

The age old question... Do I really need to spend the money on these shoes? I struggle with this all the time--I love shoes! Today I'm sharing some recent obsessions, some shoe "holes" I'm wanting to fill in my closet.

* I'd love some fun coral flats to add some spring into my every-day shoe collection
* For my study abroad this summer, I'm in search of some cute by comfy casual shoes to walk around in on days I don't want to wear sandals. I'm leaning towards something in the tan range, because my color palette is going to be black/tan/navy/red/cobalt/grey/white. Anyone who has traveled abroad have any tips here?! I'll be in Italy and then Scotland and France for sure, who knows where else!
* I've had my eye on black booties for awhile, and I think I've finally settled on a pair!
* While I don't need any more heels or booties, I really want something new and springy in this area.

Anyone want to give me shoe money? No? Darn. I guess I'll have to figure something else out... lol :)

Happy Monday!

Pastel Bags & Striped Flats

Monday, January 26, 2015

I say it all the time at my Premier parties-- updating your accessories is the best way to stretch your wardrobe. Recently, I have been feeling like it might be time for a new handbag, something fun and new to update my outfits. I haven't purchased a new handbag in awhile, so I think I'm due for one! I'm loving all the pastel colors I'm seeing for spring, and I think a pastel handbag is just what I need. All of mine are great basic colors, but I need something fun yet versatile.

In addition, I have noticed just how much I've worn my leopard flats, which I was originally hesitant to buy. So now I'm wondering how a striped pair would manage in my closet... Pickings are a little slim right now (I'm very particular about the comfort level of shoes), but I'm hoping as summer approaches maybe we'll see more striped flats on the shelves!

Is there anything you've been wanting to add to your closet lately?
How often do you buy new bags and shoes?

Staples, Scarves, and Favorite Tees

Tuesday, January 6, 2015

J.Crew Tee (similar) / LOFT Moto Jeans (non-moto version, leather version
Charlotte Russe Scarf / Vaneli Flats (same style, different colors) / Fossil Watch

This outfit could be considered a "Caroline Staple," an everyday look that is pretty common for me. I love a great basic v-neck, skinny jeans, and flats, so when you throw on a scarf it instantly makes the look more put together. Every woman should have versions of these items in their closet, for those days when you want to look stylish but are fresh out of ideas. I'm all for scarves on day's like that!

So a story behind this tee.. I love a great grey tee. Originally purchased at J.Crew Factory, I wear this all the time. The length is perfect (I have a shorter torso so I find many basic tees to be too long) and the v-neck is the perfect depth (I find many to be too deep of a v).... and I haven't found any tee that even comes close to comparing since I bought this! I had ordered some other colors from J.Crew Factory online, only to find they were so thin, and so not the same. I had even ordered two different styles! It was after that that I settled on the Sunwashed V-neck from LOFT, which fits great in the length of both the torso and the neckline, except the neckline is more of a scooped v-neck (and I'm not a fan of scoop neck shirts on me). Long story short, I'm obviously very picky about my basic tees, and when I cannot wear this grey one any longer because it's threadbare I just might cry.

Do you all have any crazy weird attachments like that? Are you picky about certain things in your closet? Please tell me I'm not the only one! lol!

Linking Up With: Walking In Memphis in High Heels and The Fashion Canvas for the Trend Spin Linkup!

Layers

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Dress: Charming Charlie (similarsimilar
Sweater : Banana Republic (similar, similar, love this option)
Scarf: World Market (nice option) / Belt: Old Navy (similar)
Bag: local boutique

When Kyle was here over the weekend, we went out to breakfast Sunday morning before he had to leave town, and this is what I wore. It was a chilly morning, and these layers were perfect for a fall morning that turns into a not-so fall afternoon, a frequent occurrence in north Florida. Begrudgingly, he snapped a couple pictures on our way out the door. Next time I think I should let him eat first! In hindsight, this would have looked better with my cognac bag, but I was also hungry and this purse already had everything in it. Hey, it was a lazy Sunday morning after all.

Moving on to my shoes; as you might recall from this post and this post, I was excited to add some leopard flats to my wardrobe. I love these Audrey Brooke flats, because they are not only of great quality and extremely comfortable, but they also come in a wide variety of colors. In fact, I have three pairs of the Newport style: the leopard I just added, a cobalt (since discontinued, but they have a similar style in cobalt), and a silver pair. And would not be upset if I added more--I'm intrigued by the camo pair, and their cognac leather one is a great basic!

Do you own multiples of something in your closet? If so, what?
